Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities stated they were alerted by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials say early analysis indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Local authorities announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking representative stated the attack rendered him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
